I used to have a little leaking, rotting, ex-State house on a windy Wellington hill. The views of the bush magnificent but the sound of the buckets filling up depressing. Scott Taylor of Mitchbuild Construction was awarded the contract to renovate our little leaky house with a fixed price labour only quote. His price was competitive (compared with two others), his attitude positive, and ultimately his commitment to deliver on time, within budget and of the best quality, incomparable.

Scott and his team re-roofed, re-clad where required, excavated the basement and built a fabulous office/projects room and laundry, renovated the kitchen and completed a raft of other details which have turned our house into a warm, cosy and space efficient home.

One of the most enduring comments Scott made while working on site was when I questioned if we could possibly install French doors instead of the specified single leaf door; the opening for the single door was already complete. Scott said “You will live in this house and work in this office for years to come. I am only here for a number of months – lets make the change for the bigger door”.

I recommend Mitchbuild Construction as well organised and professional builders. Scott Taylor is attentive to detail and clearly communicates the project progress and issues, and carries with him a positive spirit. I appreciate the work done and recommend them to others without hesitation.
